The Only Rehearsal

Today was our first day of rehearsals, the only day of rehearsals, and for the most part we didn't have to much trouble, we did have some problems with our pesky Robotics, but after a couple hours, my trusty soldering iron, a hand full of tiny screw drivers, they were persuaded to start working for us. Bless their hearts.

I like days that when you have problems, and your able to fix them, cause for the life of me it seems that most the time I get days that are always the opposite, which i guess if have to learn something, it would be that, it builds character, and an on going pain in butt. No seriously I've had one for a couple months now, course it could be the fact that I've been sitting on it for the last two months, but it was a great two months tho.

There's only 8 Days?

So I know theres a couple things wrong with my 10 forecast, but heres the thing that stands out the most to me, I'm never out side down the high part of the day, its always the low when I get to stand around outside (sigh).

On a side note, I would like to share about how I love the feeling of new socks

How do they do that?

(Here's my 2 cents worth the ramblings)

I've been reading and looking at a bunch of different blogs, and looking at magazines, on how to help me get better pictures, how do I make my pictures look awesome!? Well I've been practicing and searching, and playing with every bit of software that I own, to help me create better pic's.

(Please read the following paragraph, with a complaining tone of a spoiled rich kid wanting a golden egg for breakfast "over easy, with some toast, maybe some coffee/with creme, maybe a pancake with syrup)

So here's some sites that I've been trying to live up too here recently, now granted some of these people have a bigger budget than I do, and some have gone to college, to take pictures, and some are just stinking talented, but darn it, that doesn't mean that I can't figure how they do it, without going into debt, and have to like learn stuff or be talented, I want it handed to me!

So hopefully these people don't get mad at me for posting their sites on my blog, so I won't name names, you can just find them out for your self.

I Just Put Myself To Sleep

I've been reading some blogs, non of the usual blogs that I read, but those about Politics, I haven't decided yet if my blog fits that realm, sense my blog is filled with senseless pictures and the ramblings of what I've done through out my day.

I just don't know if this is the place for all that, I had this other blog that was all done up, about this site that tells you, with a percentage who you agree with. (the site was helpful)

Blah Blah Blah is what the blog looked like to me, I mean I enjoy reading other peoples blogs about serious things that they have to say, and that happens to me once a year, I get passionate about something, but since I can't remember what I had for lunch today I think that I'm not the one to blog about anything that makes sense, don't get me wrong I think its important, the election is important, but I'm just trying to figure out if I should keep my Blog and politics separate?

Holy crap I'm reading this back to myself in mono tone.

Why is it that every time I decide to cook something the smoke detector goes off?!

I'm Thirsty

When I went into the shop this morning I wasn't sure what the temperature was, but it was pretty stinking cold, but after last nights football games I was like, "well its not as cold as it was where they were playing, making more money than I'll ever make in a life time in one season."

So I sucked it up, but then I thought "Bummer I forgot something to drink, ah I have some water somewhere", well I found it, and as you can see it wasn't until about noonish till I was able to get a drink, stinking cold.

Thats all I have to talk about, its lame but its all I have.

Once again I would like to show a little support to what Brody Harper is doing with another blog that he's helped start.

Just Because

Tonight I didn't know what to do, other than play video games, so I did that for a little bit, and then I started watching tv, and then I thought "Oh maybe I should work on that MM book".

Now I don't know if any of you remember the blog about my computer crashing which I know it shouldn't but crap happens, well I lost the Picture books that I've made. (Yea thats right picture books, I can't read...)

So I thought "sure I'll work on that" getting into something that I forgot is tedious to the ninth degree, (sigh) nothing is labeled in the book I have, so the task is to look at a page in the book and search threw my external hard drive and see if I can find that picture, now that sounds easy enough, but I took 12,000 pictures on the tour that I'm turning into a 72 page book, and....and almost every page has multiple pictures on it for example the page I'm on currently (48) there's 16 pic's. So the tedious looking into the back ground "ok am I on the right file? is that the right venue?" So many questions so many little things to look at? Now I know some of you might wonder why does he need to this if he has a book already? Just because that's right.... Just because.

Audio Guys

I was in the shop today working on some tiles, I had my ipod on, and I was listening to a play list that I had created a long time ago, it was nice just soldering a few things, taking stuff apart putting stuff together everything was going smooth until the ipod went silent, and then about 15 seconds later I hear what seems to be "Seal", I'm not sure how he got on my play list but then I started thinking about all the different audio guys who have tuned their systems to "Seal", and using only one song for an entire tour, every day the same song over and over and over again.
Then I started wondering what they were all doing now? Who they were driving nuts with the same song over and over again, causing lighting, video, and other departments that don't matter all that much (backline...haha just joking....sortof) to sing at the top of their lungs, with a sound of obnoxiousness, or do the robot every time it comes on for the entire tour.

Here's to Audio guys with a sense of humor, without you we would just have backline guys to make fun of.


Then I almost dropped the soldering iron, but I caught it....on the wrong end, It hurt.

Better Bundle Up

Its snowing outside, finally its been so cold out for the last couple days, its great when it snows, my wife loves it. She's been ready for it snow for a while now.

Is the room spinning?

Something I've been trying to to work on for a week now is cleaning up my pic's, its so tedious
that every time I start I seem to find something else to do, you ever have one of those things that you've been trying to do, you start it and then your like "oh look something else to do like blog!" And thats my excuse tonight and I like it.

Is that Lite Brite?

I have been dreading going in the shop today since last summer, there was a day last summer we noticed that individual LED's were starting to break, so we started bringing it up every now and again with tech support, with other tech's, and always seemed to get the same answer " (laughing) yea that sucks...no but seriously individual ones huh? hmmmm......??", so I did what any good tech would do and cheated.....

....And I dragged my feet and said "Man it can't be that hard seriously! Its probably like Lite-Brite?! I'll get to it when theres some down time and I can focus just on that".
And now the down time is here, so I started researching what all I have to do like a month ago, I even practiced on an old/broken module trying to get the hang of it, (sigh) I didn't get the hang of it.

But I rolled up the old sleeves and dug in, and well it wasn't so bad, (haha) it took all day to do one but thats ok.

I know this is a cheesy thing to blog about, but thats what I did today

Pesky Comments!

It was brought to my attention that not just anybody could post a comment on my blog, only people that had blogs could say something.

Which if you will allow me a minute to ramble, the complexity of having to come up with something witty to say on someone's blog is some times over whelming, (haha) because you have to be that guy or girl that when people read the other comments they say to them selves "wow that person said something really cleverly witty, (if thats even grammatically correct) and so darn funny", its hard I know, most people I've noticed do the "just stopping by, hope your doing well", which is great the fact that they stopped by and said something, but I think its just hard to leave comments, unless its an on going conversation amongst all the commenter's, like some blogs that I know. (I mean the guys a rock star, just look at his sitemeter numbers! haha I'm just jelous)

Well after all that the comments restriction has been changed, after much clicking and reading, and sighing, I found the pesky button that I had over looked in the setup process.

Yup I'm Lazy

Today all I did was watch Football, I was happy that a team lost, and a team won,
(haha) that sounds stupid but its true, they were some good games, well one of them was and the other, well...lets say I flipped around a lot trying to find some good shows to watch during the breaks, absolutely lazy is what I am the last 2 days.

The View from where I was sitting was pretty stinking great tho, it wasn't as blurry but it was nice.

Then my wife got home with some of the best frozen pizza we've ever had.

Why don't I blog as as much when I'm home

I've been reading some blogs today, and noticing that some people blog everyday, sometimes a couple times a day, which makes for some good reading.

So I got to looking at my blog and noticed that I don't blog as much I as I do when I'm on the road, partly because I blog for my wife so she can see the pic's of the stories I tell her and what not, but I think the main reason is my Christmas presents.


Video games sleeps arch enemy! I have spent so much time playing video games the last 2 weeks, that I haven't slept, but you have to admit that I've beaten COD4 on regular and hard, yea that's right I'm poppin my collar, and I'm playing the Assassin's Creed for the second time.

Now I do want to clear something up, I haven't been ignoring my wife in this process, I play while she's at work and or sleeping, so don't go feeling bad for her. Well maybe a little.

Stupid Murphy's Law

I don't usally blog about a gig, usually its about something that has to do with the gig, or something that happen on the gig, or something that a couple of us did while on the gig, but this time the gig kicked my butt, so I'm going to show what kicked my butt.

I know that it doesn't look like much but the things I was suppose to do was the LED tiles which are the 2 single vertical columns, and the 4 rows of tiles hanging in the air.
and there was suppose to be 2 of us doing that, (it was just me) and 1 guy doing the mistrips which are the panels under the bottom row of tiles.

So the guy doing those had to leave after setting them up. (And when he checked them everything worked.)

So all I had to do was set up the ones on the Down stage set, can't be that hard since I've never touched them before ever.

And it wasn't hard at all, they were fairly simple to set up.


I don't really have any pic's of me staying up till the wee hours of the morning fixing stuff, and trouble shooting stuff, and just working on stuff, or stuff working up till doors, and then not working for the show (haha), all I can say is Murphy's Law kicked my butt this week.

But in the end it all turned out ok and everybody was happy and thats what matters
