Trying New Places....

Today is Jenkins' B'Day, he got back into town this morning just in time for lunch, since its his day, we asked him what he would like to do for lunch? He suggested this little ma & pa place here in town. Patti and I have driven by this place a hundred times always wondering what it was like, but never really took the time to try it out. Not really ever looking real close at it, I hadn't realized that it was a really old, house/restaurant place, so as you can see in the pic it looks a little run down, and I'm pretty sure that it was around to serve the civil war soldiers food!

But once inside, it wasn't to bad, it actually reminded me of the places in IA that all the old farmers would go to eat some pie and have coffee, the waitress was an older woman that had a nickname for each of us, and saying "hunny" instead of "honey" and "bay-by" and when she would come to check on ya, it didn't matter who was talking she would say real loud like "YA'll doin OKah?" But from about 5 feet away from the table so the surrounding tables would wonder if she was talking to them. I had asked for some ranch dressing for my fry's, and when she came back, she had tow ketchup bottles and she said "Now Hunny, this is ranch dressin' ", then she repeated herself. (haha) The menu's were great, if they didn't serve something anymore, instead of getting new menu's they just drew a X through it.

I would have to say it was a lot of fun, and the food was amazing, just good people and food.
